2. Drop a solid state drive into it and make it better than new.

I have a 2009 17-inch MBP. It was starting to choke about two years ago.

I put a $500 SSD into it and it keeps up with everything, runs as fast as a new machine.

The same drive is now $303 including an external enclosure for the old drive.
