Whet do you mean by ....don't get a signal. Do you mean garage band does not open up or there is no sound coming out of your monitors / speakers.

The standard answer to no sound is that your audio preference "output" is not lined up ..... It
must be the same in the computer ( under system preferences > audio ) as in garage band preferences > audio. Make sure the output is set to the audio interface and not the USB or Apple TV etc

If GarageBand is not opening up I would just make an appointment at Genius Bar
