Ok, this might seem like a crazy little atta boy to both MAC and the California Highway Patrol [View all]

One of the things we do is we have a twitter feed for traffic \fire incidents. Yes, at times I spend a lot of time on the twitter, like yesterday, god it was a good day to stay off the roads in my town yesterday. At one point we had four major accidents, as in blocking traffic on major freeways, at the same time, and a wild fire. Fortunately this is not every day. Now Los Angeles, that is called Tuesday. If I had to actually get my duff off to the fire line, it would have been a real problem.

Anyhow, the CHP put an APP for the Iphone\Ipad. The App will also let you tweet incidents that the CHP has on the CAD directly from it. You know how much easier that is than having to write down every damn incident in 240 characters or less? I mean, especially from the field? I kind of discovered that today. The format the damn app takes, I actually prefer the Android for that, but no direct tweet from it.

Oh and example from the app generated tweet

Watch out for: Traffic Collision - Ambulance Responding @ SR52 E / MAST WO #chp #log140110BC00950 chp://show/q?center=bocc&log=140110BC00950

It is enough to tell people to avoid it, or why there is a traffic mess, and if more info is needed, well, write an actual tweet.

It is simply called CHP Traffic. If you live in Cali, or travel to it, think about it.
