1. Windows creates a backup before it upgrades, in case there's a problem during the install process.

It's asking if you want to remove that backup.

If you have a backup solution in place and you have the room, it's not a bad idea to make a backup prior to any changes, but as long as the upgrade went fine and you're not having issues, it's usually safe to let it delete the old install. In some cases, they're deleted automatically after ten days.
