5. It does look to be generational

Like many of my generation, before widespread vaccines were available, I actually had measles as a kid (along with mumps, rubella, chicken pox and the usual run of childhood infections - at least two of those at the same time, which must have made me even more of a joy to be around than usual), which should give me lifelong immunity.

I don't recall it being a big deal for me or any of my classmates (I think the chicken pox rash was the most uncomfortable, and left me with a few minor scars), but there are always those who're unlucky.
