It means that nobody has any disposable income, so tourism and hospitality will be very badly damaged due to loss of trade.

It's catastrophic for businesses as business energy costs are not capped and it takes a lot of electricity to manufacture goods, run a shop, distribute goods or undertake scientific research. Everything from steelmaking through to the voluntary sector is going to be absolutely crippled by this. All at a time when we've ruined our trading relationship with the rest of the world by leaving the EU

Government is also going to be very badly affected as energy costs are going to eat into budgets and force cuts to pay for electric costs..

And that's before we get onto what this means for households. This winter is going to be incredibly bad.
