3. I don't know much about the Alberta NDP

But are they really NDP or in a name only? From the article:

The New Democrats appear to have cobbled together an unusual coalition of the wealthy, the young, disaffected PCs and half the Liberal party.

Though I guess any shift away from the far right is great news.
