1. Canada has a lot of really good college, community, and First Nations radio stations

I'm not in Canada, but I listen to them online sometimes.
They have good music as well as news and talk.

In Toronto is CIUT 89.5 http://www.ciut.fm/

Some not in Toronto are CKDU, CKUT, and CJAM.

Several stations participate in the annual Homeless Marathon:

Those lists aren't identical, and list several Toronto stations, they are probably all good.
