How police agencies are using their secret databases and intelligence collection is simple: "We know better than the courts who the bad people are and we will be judge, jury and executioner".

It is actually worse in Ontario to not be charged or convicted of a crime (but the undercover apparatus opening a dossier on you) than it is to be charged, convicted and sentenced for a crime. This amounts to perpetual life-time interference in one's pursuit of happiness.

Furthermore, although it isn't an election issue, Wynne's direct encouragement of exploration into these matters is a HUGE feather in the cap for me. I have actually gained a great deal of respect for her after she has the integrity to address these concerns and suggest that the CCLA recommendations will be taken into account.

Economic issues are always top of mind, but there is one issue in my opinion that trumps all: freedom. More specifically the justice and dignity for the individual that should embody those freedoms.
