Alicia Halvensleben, a Democrat, wins the Waukesha mayoral race in Wisconsin. [View all]

This is indicative.

Waukesha, a historically Republican-leaning Milwaukee suburb, is electing a new mayor. State Representative Scott Allen, a Republican, is facing Alicia Halvensleben, a Democrat who is the president of the city’s Common Council. Mayor Shawn Reilly, an independent who left the Republican Party and who endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024, is not seeking re-election. The election is officially nonpartisan.
