Republicans will alway play hard ball. No scruples. Democrats have to play hard ball on behalf of our issues and interests for a change. We can’t just go back to modeling good behavior. That hasn’t worked for a long time in the past and won’t work at all in the future. Fixing what republicans have screwed up will take what they will call extremism. To paraphrase what uber-conservative Republican Barry Goldwater once said, extremism in defense of democracy and liberal values is no vice. I hope they’ve gotten that message.
