Translation: "We're against anything that might portray Jefferson in a bad light". Give me a break. As if a guy who's been dead for nearly 200 years needs protecting. That mentality is so infuriating to me. Honest historical assessments add depth to an individual's character that the whitewashed hagiography could never achieve.
