2. After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita my brother had to raise the family home 8ft

Making it a total of 13 ft off the ground. The house was built in 1926 and had never had water in it until those two hurricanes, weeks apart. Thank you, climate change.

Of course I suspected something was wrong when I endured 5 100 year hurricanes before I was 18.

Good luck to the Houston folks. The other alternative is to raze the house and move, so it can be a tough choice.
