Alex Jones' 'medical issues' may prevent him from attending 'parts of' Sandy Hook trial in Texas [View all]

Jones may be faking another "medical condition"

Alex Jones’ attorney says the Infowars host may not be in the courthouse much during his trial in Texas to determine how much he owes in defamation damages to the parents of a slain Sandy Hook boy.

“Alex, you may have noticed is not here, like the plaintiffs. He may not be here through parts of the trial,” said F. Andino Reynal, attorney for Jones, during jury selection on Monday.

Jones, Reynal said, “has medical issues” that prevent him from being present and that he “has no obligation to be here.”

In the spring, Jones was issued escalating $25,000 daily fines by a Connecticut judge for failing to show up for court-ordered depositions in March. His attorneys at the time provided a doctor’s note describing “acute medical issues that were time-sensitive and potentially serious.”

In a message on Infowars, Jones blamed stress and the cardiovascular effects of his COVID-19 infection last year for why he couldn’t make the depositions. He eventually came to Connecticut for his deposition.
