Mother, daughter walking along South Carolina beach get rare sight of octopus [View all]

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) — A mother and daughter walking along the water's edge in South Carolina came across a rare sight!

The pair spotted a brightly colored common Atlantic octopus resting in shallow waters of Myrtle Beach. Heather Leon called it "an incredible experience."

A video posted by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources showed the octopus gracefully swimming away shortly after the clip starts.
