Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano made multiple stops in the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday as part of his meet and greet bus tour, where he highlighted some of his campaign points.

Mr. Mastriano was joined by his wife Rebbie, who also took some time to speak to supporters. Media were admitted to the events, but were asked by campaign staff “not to engage with Doug or Rebbie” and at one point during Mr. Mastriano’s speech were physically blocked by campaign members and supporters.

In the parking lot of the Republican Committee of Allegheny County headquarters in Green Tree, Mr. Mastriano shook hands and took photos with a crowd of about 75 people. He dedicated a large portion of his speech at this event to criticizing his opponent, current Attorney General Josh Shapiro and current Governor Tom Wolf.

My goal is to make Pennsylvania the Florida of the north,” Mr. Mastriano told the crowd. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis joined Mr. Mastriano at a Pittsburgh rally in August, where he called on all Republicans to unite around the candidate.

“No longer will you have a governor reigning over you with terror and fear,” Mr. Mastriano added.

Oh really - "The Florida of the North"?

If you love Florida so much, why don't you just move there, Doug!

I know LOTS of Pennsylvanians, and nobody I know wants our beautiful state to become the Florida of the North.
