No, Trump ballots are not being thrown away in Ohio State dorms [View all]
The storm of disinformation stirring about the November election is kicking up at Ohio State University.
Days before the first absentee ballots are even set to be mailed to Ohio voters who requested them, someone posted in a newsletter meant for Ohio State University students that they love working at a residence hall and throwing away absentee ballots that vote for (President Donald) Trump.
The comment in The Student Section, attributed only to someone posting under the name Brian W., got a swift rebuke from Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose after it went viral in a Thursday afternoon Tweet from Charlie Kirk, the Talking Points USA founder who spoke at the Republican National Convention.
One problem: absentee ballots havent even been mailed yet in Ohio. The first wave of more than 2 million that have so far been requested will be sent on Tuesday.
This alleged activity that is going on cant have happened yet. But if you think thats funny its not. Every student, every Ohio voter, deserves to be able to cast the ballot they want for the candidate of their choice, LaRose said in a video posted to his Twitter account on Thursday.
