9. I'm guessing that I don't know too many who are still there now since they were mostly senior citizens at the time

But I'll never meet another group of such great people, experienced travelers who were determined to make a difference in the world - and they all accepted me and we became friends. Not to mention that this is such a beautiful area - and I find it heartbreaking that they're suffering such devastation. I've also been thinking of the Western North Carolina Nature Center which gave safe homes to rescued animals of all kinds - we also visited there often.
