2. Here in the New York North Country, we've had lightning and thunderstorms all week

Not to mention sweltering weather. We also get flood warnings, but so far my county (Warren) has been spared. And then today we had dangerous wind warnings. At least we haven't experienced the horrific flooding in nearby Vermont. "It's always something..." Stay safe!
