This whole NY redistricting business is crazy and potentially damaging in terms of loss of power and Congressional votes. My district (West Side of Manhattan) is now being combined with the East Side, thus setting up a competition/battle between two important and powerful Democrats: Jerry Nadler, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and Carolyn Maloney Chair of the House Oversight Committee.
