Stephen mentioned the annual migration of snow geese and swans at Freezeout Lake...I’ve been there dozens of times for that event. Freezeout sits near the foothills of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. I don’t think there is a more stunning back drop to experience the tens of thousands of birds that move through that area in the fall. It is a major stopover in the central flyway for geese, swans and ducks migrating from Canada to TX and the Gulf of Mexico for the winter. It’s called Freezeout because the lake is quite shallow and once it is frozen, it stays that way till spring. If it is frozen when the birds come, they have to keep going to find rest and food on their journey.

Thanks Rhiannon! GOTV!
