most prisons do a terrible job of feeding their inmates.

I don't have a lot of personal knowledge, but I do have a friend who corresponds with and visits inmates. For those of you with a religious bent, I'd describe him as having a prison ministry, even though that's not how he thinks of it.

But he tells me that his inmate friends often complain about the food. The quality and the quantity. And, from what I can tell, this isn't spoiled people complaints. It's real and substantive. Lousy food, crappy portions.
