... in the eighth grade at the junior high I went to at his age. Kid was shot (may have died) in a restroom during a beat-down.

My son was in private school a week later.

At the same time I don't know how this stuff gets fixed in the short term.

I don't think more or stricter rules, or arresting and treating kids 18 and under like adults works. I don't think more cops and jails and courts are the answer, either.
