Whitmer approves new track and nickname from local rapper: 'Big Gretch says stay home and stay safe' [View all]

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) gave her stamp of approval to a local rapper from Detroit over the weekend after he released a new song dedicated to her called “Big Gretch.”

The rapper, Gmac Cash, released the track on YouTube on Friday. Over the past several days, the song has amassed more than 138,000 views on the streaming site.

In the song, the artist raps about his governor’s response to the novel coronavirus outbreak in his state, including the stay-at-home order she recently extended through mid-May in an effort to curb the spread of the disease.
