Parts of Genesee County, Michigan got over 5" of rain. [View all]
Grand Blanc, who had a tornado back in February, and Burton, both just south of Flint, are also both are in the 5+ inches of rain category. The area where I live received between 2 and 3". After looking at the path of this storm, I kind of figured that since we seemed on the outside edge, we'd get spared the deluge.
Regardless, there is LOTS of flooding and power outages throughout the county.
I'm about to pull on my wellies and head out to my back yard to feed the ferals. A couple of hours ago the water stood several inches deep. Now it has, for the most part drained. I have checked on them, throughout the storm. Some are a little damp but they all found someplace to shelter out of the wind and downpour of rain.
It's been a day full of worry about some many things. I can't even express how relieved I am to have this weather finally leaving the area, that my sump pump was able to handle the onrush of incoming water, and that my electricity never even blinked.
I might just feed the kidcats, feed myself, and then go to bed.
