1. These were the scariest storms I can remember in Michigan

The local newscasters and wearther people were obviously freaked out having never covered anything like this before.

There was the state's first ever tornado emergency declared by the NWS. The designation was available since 1999.

Portage, which is a heavily popuilated suburb of Kalamazoo took 2 direct hits from 2 tornadoes less than an hour apart. Almost the same neighborhoods.
