News from @IAStartingLine on Twitter (re: Joni Ernst) [View all]

Mon 3/11/2019 4:53 PM

It’s official: Joni Ernst has gone full-on Washington politician. Iowa Starting Line broke a story on Twitter that shows just how transactional her relationship with is with special interest groups:

Iowa Starting Line:
“WEDNESDAY: Joni Ernst votes for lifetime appointment for Trump point man on dismantling pre-existing conditions coverage requirement

THURSDAY: Joni Ernst raises big money from the healthcare industry”

Rush a donation to defeat Joni “Pay-for-Play” Ernst

This is pay-for-play politics at its finest, folks. Iowans overwhelmingly support protecting people with preexisting conditions -- but Senator Ernst voted for a judge who fought hard to dismantle those protections.

Then the very next day cozied up to her buddies in the healthcare industry. And they rewarded her vote with putting more money in her campaign coffers -- raising tens of thousands of dollars for Joni Ernst’s reelection campaign.

Every day, we learn more and more about how out of touch Senator Ernst is with her constituents. But now it’s getting out of control.

Senator Ernst is gearing up for what she knows will be a tough race to win another term in the U.S. Senate by accepting major high-dollar contributions from the healthcare industry. While we don’t have access to the same millionaire donors that she does, we have something else: YOU!

Please make a grassroots donation today to help us compete with -- and defeat -- Joni Ernst in 2020.

Thanks much,
Jonah (Hermann of IDP)
