6. Similar IA death of teen boy in 80s

IIRC it happened in 80s in eastern IA. A very cold night. 2 young men robbed a 7-11 type store and ran out to escape. One decided it was way too cold and came back and surrendered. The other did not and was later found dead.

At the time there were articles claiming many people in modern US do not understand the effects on the human body of extensive exposure to extreme cold.

Such a tragedy for the family.

[Lived in Ames, not too far from Marshalltown, from 68 to 89; got our puppy there.]
