Iowa director fired for sexual harassment without a review or chance to respond, state acknowledges [View all]
Gov. Kim Reynolds conducted no review or investigation before firing Iowa Finance Authority Director Dave Jamison following allegations of sexual misconduct by two female employees, a top adviser for the governor acknowledged Tuesday in an administrative hearing.
Jamison was fired March 24 after the two women both employees of the agency contacted Reynolds' chief of staff, Jake Ketzner, March 23 and outlined dozens of detailed accusations.
When Jamison was fired hours later, the administration refused to give further details about the accusations or allow Jamison an opportunity to respond, Ketzner testified in an unemployment hearing Tuesday.
"Like I said, they were very detailed allegations, and so I believed them and at that point there was no need for additional information, he said.
