BUT, law enforcement at all levels will have to be very vigilant--as will those of us who value peace, civility, social respect and order, constitutionality, and justice. Clearly, the wacko wingers and nutters and haters have been whipped up into such a paranoid, panicked, and frenzied state that law and order will likely be at risk in the aftermath of this election. Conspiratorial thinking will spread exponentially, and certain types of people will crack, break, unhinge, go berserk. Watch for a run on guns and ammunition, k-rats, etc.
That said, local, county and state law enforcement apparatus--or individuals within them--have, to varying degrees across this country, become similarly factionalized and some are complicit in the violation of rights of people of whom they are intolerant. The principal of equal protection is currently under stress or near a breaking point, and the nature of law enforcement and protection anywhere in response to post-election rightwing extremism remains an open question; especially in red states. I imagine we'll fare a bit better here in the First and Second Districts compared to our liberal comrades in the Third and, especially, the Fourth.
