Let me guess...with state revenue predicting to fall, we will cut said revenue by giving tax cut (probably aimed at mega donors and megapigfarms). Then with less money to spend and a mandatory balanced budget the Republican will somehow claim that they will increase spending on mental health. Not buying it.

This will almost certainly cause cuts in funding for schools (looking at you Iowa city and Des Moines who dared to defy Covid Kimmy), even less for support programs like medicaid.

Another steal from those unable to protect themselves so that the superrich can get a tax cut.

Of course the added benefits of defunding educational spending is that Iowa will become more and more like Mississippi, a rethuglican wet dream.
