The Iowa Department of Public Health on Sunday was reporting another 68 COVID-19 deaths and an additional 431 confirmed cases.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, the state was reporting 5,822 COVID-19-related deaths, according to the state's website. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus.

The jump in the number of deaths reported appears to be catch-up on previous deaths added to the state's tally. The state was reporting 15 recorded deaths for April 4.

The state was reporting Sunday that there are 353,242confirmed cases of coronavirus.
