Since the great recession/housing bust, plenty of folks are claiming owner occupied on property that they now rent out. And I'm sure IL is not the only state where this occurs.

And I doubt all he owes is $2500.. Chicago property taxes are higher than in my area. And really, there should be some penalty for lying - don't care who you are or who you know.

When one buys property in IL, the title company sends in an owner occupied document. Time to start cross referencing and dropping the owner occupied on any other properties. Even if one pays cash, documents are filed for transfer/recording taxes.

I like Mayor Lightfoot - so far she is beholden to no one.
