#1 If they recovered bullets or shell casings, they have ballistic evidence.
#2 I heard he was shot in the head.
#3 If #2 is true, after being shot in the head does it really matter how many more bullets this guy took? He's still dead.
#4 He was on patrol and stumbled upon a robbery in progress. Chances are he pursued the guys of foot. He told dispatch he was in pursuit of 2 white dudes and a black dude. That was the last anyone heard from him. When backup arrived they found him dead.
#5 Seriously doubt this was a traffic stop gone bad.

The real tragedy of this is he should have never even been there. He was to retire a month ago after 30 years and they asked him to stick around a little bit longer.
The guys commitment to public service ultimately cost him his life.
