I came here in 1987. The District is prosperous and growing. Yes, there is a crime problem. There is a crime problem EVERYWHERE. But, it's nowhere near as bad as the 80's and 90's crack cocaine wars. But, they like to mess with DC because they think they know the place. Shit, they can't cross the river to Northern VA fast enough.
