Low-Flying Jet Warning: Air Force To Conduct Flyover In DC Area [View all]
The Air Combat Command is alerting D.C. area residents of a flyover on Friday unlike a month ago when low-flying jets startled residents.
WASHINGTON, DC The U.S. military's Air Combat Command will be conducting a flyover in the D.C. area on Friday at 1 p.m. The flyover will include four T-38 aircraft.
The Air Combat Command, part of the U.S. Air Force, is offering residents the advance notice unlike a month ago when the military conducted a flyover without warning that rattled windows and nerves.
In April, two F-22 Raptors flew over downtown D.C. shortly after 11 a.m. to celebrate the opening of the National World War I Memorial. Residents were not alerted beforehand by the Department of Defense about the flyover.
D.C. residents went on social media to let leaders know they were caught off guard and that the flyover shook their windows and caused car alarms to start blaring.
