.SHORT TERM...(Today through Saturday)...
A trough of low pressure is currently drifting south across the
Southwest today with the back edge of this system bringing upper-
level winds from the north. These northerly winds have brought
smoke from Central California wildfires down into SoCal. Areas of
thick smoke aloft will be seen for the rest of today and into
tomorrow, with the most being confined to our northern locations.
Moist west and southwest flow around this trough is also
triggering some storms to pop up along and east of the mountains
into the deserts this afternoon.
