I always thought the I 30 bridge in Little Rock, or the I-10 bridge in Baton Rouge were in worse condition. The latter would vibrate and shake so badly with heavy truck traffic I literally feared it would fail while driving over it. I've travelled over all three of these bridges hundreds of times in a truck, and never realized the I 40 bridge to Memphis was in poor condition also. Looked much nicer, with a much smoother roadway and elevated approaches. The roadbed sections on the elevated highway approach to the I 30 bridge iin Little Rock were so old and uneven I thought it was a national disgrace. I checked the maps to refresh my memory. It's been five years since I retired. The trucking company contacts me often to get me to come back. They must be desperate. I don't miss it a bit.
