10 people arrested at protest outside Sen. Kyrsten Sinema's Phoenix office [View all]

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Ten people were arrested Tuesday during a protest outside the Phoenix office of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.

The demonstration came the day after the Democratic Senator voiced her support of the "filibuster," a Senate rule that requires 60 votes to pass most bills. Those who oppose the filibuster say lawmakers use it to block legislation.

Protesters carried signs that read "End the filibuster," and "Protect Our Democracy," and "Shame! Shame!"

Phoenix police say they became aware of a planned demonstration at a business complex near 32nd Street and Camelback Road. The property manager of the complex told detectives that the demonstrators were interfering with normal business operations, and that he had asked the group to leave the private property.
