I know that area well.

It rumored that theres a small amount of urainium ore in that area. Republicans have wanted to mine that area since the 70's and they did to some degree.

Additionally, a lot of business interests want to develop that area. It almost happenedd under Trump. Shopping malls and corperate bullshit.

The area that is mentioned is stunning. Leave it to a republican to spoil it for money...
