It is about 360 miles west of Morocco. Vertically it is about halfway between Marrakesh and Casa Blanca. Portuguese territory.

As with the Canary's you don't see many Yanks. Visitors are largely Northern European. When discovered by Portugal it was uninhabited. However there is DNA evidence from mice that the Vikings were there for a bit.
