They were great live. Blackout is one of the greatest metal albums of all time, played the hell outta that record in my HS days, same with Love at First Sting. Can't really say Francis' bass playing ever stood out to me, not with Matthias, Rudolf, and Klaus all shredding on top of the sturdy rhythm section, but as a combo they always had a great sound.
Francis, thanks for the great rock and roll!
