5. I met him back in the 70's

I was in a band at the time. Our manager was promoting a concert with him in the Bellingham Washington area. Our manager, being short on funds and needing some extra bodies to help out with things, asked if we band members would help with equipment set up and tear down for the concert. We agreed and spent the entire day helping the roadies setting up and tearing down. It was a loooong day. We arrived around 10 a.m. and worked until 5a.m. the next day. Sometime after the concert, late at night, Jimmy Buffett came over and introduced himself and thanked us all for lending a hand. He seemed like a really nice guy but by the time we met him in person I was so exhausted I hardly registered the event. In retrospect I wish I had been a little less tired to enjoy the experience. We did get a nice break to enjoy the concert from backstage while he was performing. Good show.
