Are we free to discuss (in this forum) the insipied Red Baiting going on in another forum? [View all]

I just discovered that an OP in GD was locked under the premise that the subject was "off topic".

The subject was Oliver Stone's remarks published on his fb page wrt to events in Ukraine.

The "responses" were classic knee jerk reactionary red baiting.

I don't understand why that's tolerated. In fact the locking was knee jerk reactionary.
