Finland is going to try this. They will replace all of the social safety net with single check. Of course they have universal health care, so not all of the net. This sounds like a real Republican idea, like block grants. Give people a check and let them decide. I doubt this would catch on with them though. I am very interested to see the results, my mind is not made up on the idea yet.
