In reply to the discussion: Holy shit. Just got a call from the mechanic. [View all]OldBaldy1701E
(11,699 posts)25. Last year, we had to get a vehicle by any means necessary.
Since the flashy 2010 Santa Fe screwed us over.
So, we had to get a 2007 Pontiac. It was $1850.
I am desperately trying to make sure nothing on it gives out. That will be impossible since it is almost 20 years old and we cannot keep it up as well as we need to due to lack of funds. Hell, we are desperate to get the brakes fixed, but we just don't have it.

We can get our two big dogs in the back with the seats folded down. That was a must.

Those damn little Corollas run for ever... 200,000 miles easy. Keep within your budget. Cars are a depreciating asset..

I don't know what "parts" you have...but that's one problem with the Elantra.

I'm suspicious of that mechanic's analysis. Can you get the opinion of a mechanic whom you have more reason to trust ?
