Sometimes I just flat out remember what a past answer was. Like today. I remembered SMILE was once used.
I checked a list that removes former words now back in play and SMILE wasn't on it. Voila, it's got to be the answer.

If I keep a list, or I look at someone else's I don't see the difference. It's just using resources.

But like a lot of these games. A player can make up their own personal "rules." It's just how each wants to play the game. For example, some people think reversing a move in solitaire is cheating. Some don't.
