(8,792 posts)77. Our library
Both my wife and I enjoy reading. We also collect art, whether it is my own paintings or other artists we know.

It is so relaxing to sit in this room reading a book, especially in the winter with a fire going.
We could not get a rolling ladder we liked so we settled for a library steps tool that you can see in the back.
Update: we had the bookshelves, fireplace surround, floor, molding and paint done by our contractor and it was surprisingly inexpensive. About 10k all in material and labor.

That's wonderful! I recently found my great-grandmother's butterchurn. I may even have a churning party! ❤️

Hahaha. Don't worry. I'll be glad to butter your bread. You wouldn't have to lift a finger.

Marie Kondo? Isn't she the one who said "Ideally, you should own fewer than thirty books"?

No scholar would take that seriously. Thirty REFERENCE books is not even a start.

I have topics that pop up on some of my feeds that say, "Women Over 40 Shouldn't Have These Items In Their Home"
