Weird Piece Of Mail Today [View all]

Got a letter saying Coinbase owes me money from a settlement. It was unclaimed property.
Figured it was a scam despite the official looking letterhead.
But, I checked on the search firm and they're totally legitimate.
Licensed in several states, BBB rated A+, and there was a coinbase legal settlement.
But, I never had a Coinbase account, so it's still suspicious.
The letter isn't asking for info that I wouldn't give either, other than proof of identification.
No bank accounts, no SS#, and they ask for the address but they already have that.
My cut would be around $470, so it's not huge money, but it's got me curious as to what this is all about.
