I'm good with Glenlivet, too. Less so with Glenfiddich.
I don't care for lowland scotches. Too peaty for me.
I have a bottle of Glenmorangie on my piano. It's about half-full and is at least 7 & 1/2 years old.
So, I get what you mean about lasting a long time.
